Introduction to Tae Kwon Do


The martial arts has many powerful kicking techniques to learn. For people who have ADD, the martial arts will help them with concentration. Tae Kwon Do has different color belts and they all have different meanings. You learn some basic Korean words. To reach ninth degree black belt it takes you your whole life. That's the ultimate goal to reach in the martial arts. To get your ninth degree black belt you have to be voted by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation. The Korean discipline center is called a Do jang.

The Korean uniform that you wear in the Korean martial art is called a Do bok. In the Martial art you learn forms which are called Poom se. Tae Kwon Do means "the art of Kicking and Punching. Before you do any martial arts or sports activities you need to stretch to prevent injuries. Sparing is safe because you wear protective equipment. You test every two months for your new color belt. To get your new belt and your certificate you go to a belt ceremony. The Tae Kwon Do instructors presents you your new belt and certificate.

The Olympics are every four years. The ring dimensions for all international championships and Olympic competitions of the contest area measures 26 feet square (8 meters), the outer boundary measuring 39 feet square (12 meters). For all Regional and Local Tournaments the dimension must measure 19 1/2 square (6 meters), the outer boundary measuring 26 feet square (8 meters). All competitions are supervised by one referee, four judges and two jurors.








I am a fun and out going person. The things I like to do are doing Tae Kwon Do, write childrens books, publish books, and reading horror books. In Tae Kwon Do I'm a senior red belt. My goal in Tae Kwon Do is to be a fifth degree black belt.
